Fears antisemitism meeting tonight could turn violent - Jews being Jews!

There are fears a political group’s meeting to discuss the definition of anti-semitism could turn violent.

Redbridge Momentum has confirmed there will be a police presence outside Redbridge Central Library at 7.30 pm tonight as pro-Israel “hardliners” are expected to try and disrupt the meeting.

A number of Jewish neighbours applied for tickets to the event titled ‘Labour, Britain’s Jews and Antisemitism — A Different Perspective,’ but claim they were refused.

A concerned Jewish man called for the event to be cancelled in an email to Redbridge Council Leader Cllr Jas Athwal.

He said: “Not only are organisers trying to tell Jews the meaning of ‘antisemitism’ they are telling individual Jews they cannot come to the meeting. Four so far.

“This is a public building, please try to get the meeting cancelled. This is an abuse of a public space.”

Redbridge Labour has distanced itself from the meeting, claiming the group organising it has nothing to do with the Labour party or with the official Labour Momentum group.
